Baltimore’s favorite steel band is performing a FREE concert at the 29th Street Community Center on Thursday, July 20 starting at 5:30PM!

This concert is part of the Charles Village Music Series and is being presented indoors in AIR CONDITIONING because of extreme heat anticipated this week.

The Trinidad & Tobago Baltimore Steel Orchestra has been providing authentic Caribbean steel drum music since its founding in 1971, performing widely around the U.S. and around the world. 

Formed in 1971 by a few Trinidadians who resided in Baltimore, Maryland, Richard Semper and Paul Gervais, who are still with the group today. The group now has musicians representing three generations of steel drum players. They’ve performed in concerts throughout the mid-Atlantic region, and have offered their services for numerous charitable fund-raising affairs. Most recently in 2024, the Orchestra received awards from the City Of Baltimore’s Mayor Brandon Scott and the Governor of Maryland Wes Moore, for their contributions for over 50 years of promoting Caribbean culture in the DC Maryland and Virginia area.
