This event is hybrid – both online and in person at 29th Street Community Center! On June 13th from 7 – 8:30 PM, we hope you’ll join us for our next edition of the Gertrude S. Williams Memorial Speaker Series, where we discuss equitable solutions to community problems.

The series is named after the late Gertrude S. Williams, the esteemed Barclay Elementary & Middle School Principal from 1971-98, who remained keenly interested in the well-being of the school and the surrounding communities. Even now, our community center continues to share the same building as Barclay EMS and much of our programming serves their community. We’re excited for the next iteration of the series titled, “Journalism and the Voices of Our Community”; perspectives and wisdom will be shared around the topic as we learn more about our speakers’ background and contributions to the community through journalism.

Moderator: Ralph Moore
